It’s Snowtime — Killington is Open for Business
The Beast is stirring.
Killington, with one of the largest snow-making systems in the country (1,700 guns and 88 miles of pipe), has been blasting out the man-made stuff for the past week or so, and the Beast of the East is ready and open for business for the 2019-20 season.

The Vermont resort is offering roughly 600 vertical feet of skiing and snowboarding on the parallel Rime and Reason runs, which are serviced by the new North Ridge quad that replaced the old triple chair over the summer.
Granted its not full-on; in fact, it’s just a teensy portion of Killington’s 1,509 skiable acres and 155 trails. But with two runs dedicated to riders who can confidently handle the blues — sorry, no beginner terrain just yet — it’s better than sitting at home watching college hoops — or whatever.
And get this: The weather gurus are calling for a chance of snow Wednesday through Friday, so you could possibly see more terrain opening up in the days to come.
